If you are producing steelwork that can be considered to be structural you may need to CE mark the product against BS EN 1090-1.  This is a major change for the construction industry that started with CE Marking mandatory from 1 July 2013 for all construction products covered by a harmonised European standard or conforming to a European Technical Assessment. Then followed by CE Marking for fabricated structural steelwork which will become mandatory on 1 July 2014.

These changes will impact the rest of the construction industry and what they need to do to comply with Construction Products Regulation.

N.B. EU Regulation 305/2011 remains in force as the UKCA SI for Construcion products other than structural steelwork

This latest update could include the appointment of a Notified Body and the implementation of a production system.
